Tinctures: What are they and what do they do?

Tinctures are extractions of plant, mushroom, or other materials using a variety of solvents. Alcohol is the most commonly used solvent, but vinegar and glycerine can also be used (depending on what type of material you are extracting from).

Portability:

Tinctures are great because they can be taken with you anywhere and used. The dosages for most tinctures is small amounts, 1-3 times a day, so even a small bottle can last a long time. They can be easily added to your dopkit, toiletries bag, backpack or purse. And most bottles have a handy dropper built in, so there are no messes and no wastage.

Potency:

One things about tinctures, is they can definitely be potent. Potency depends on how well they were made, and how much alcohol to material was used. This is one benefit to making your own tinctures, you can ensure potency through doing it the right way.

Longevity:

The shelf life on Alcohol tinctures is outstanding. If stored correctly, these should be able to last an extremely long time. This is another great reason to make them, they never go bad, and are always there when you need them.
